1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ShowCheeseShare (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Service Description

ShowCheeseShare is a media-sharing platform that allows event organisers to create events, upload photos and videos, and share them with guests via a unique event link. Guests may view, upload, and download media depending on the permissions set by the event organiser. The Service is provided “as is” and we reserve the right to modify or discontinue features at any time.

3. User Accounts

• Registration — to create events and manage your media you must register an account with a valid email address and a secure password.
• Accuracy — you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep it up to date.
• Security — you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. Notify us immediately at support@showcheeseshare.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• One account per person — accounts are personal and may not be transferred to or shared with another individual or entity.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

• Plans — the Service is available on free and paid subscription tiers. Paid plans unlock higher storage limits, additional features, and priority support. Plan details and pricing are available on the pricing page.
• Payment — all payments are processed securely through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected).
• Cancellation — you may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access until then.
• Refunds — subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us within 14 days of the charge.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload, share, or distribute illegal content, including but not limited to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), content that incites violence, or content that infringes third-party rights.
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users or third parties.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts, servers, or systems.
• Upload individual files exceeding 500 MB or consume storage beyond your plan limit.
• Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service in a way that degrades performance for other users.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

6. Intellectual Property

• Your content — you retain full ownership of all photos, videos, and other content you upload to the Service.
• Licence to ShowCheeseShare — by uploading content, you grant ShowCheeseShare a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, reproduce, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. This licence terminates when you delete the content or your account.
• ShowCheeseShare IP — all trademarks, software, design elements, and other intellectual property of ShowCheeseShare remain the exclusive property of ShowCheeseShare and may not be used without our written consent.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ShowCheeseShare shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, revenue, or profits — arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these Terms, without prior notice, and without liability to you. You may also delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Content associated with your account will be deleted in accordance with our data retention policy (see Privacy Policy, Section 5).

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Portugal, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Portugal. If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also benefit from mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence.
